Friday Video: If "Monty Python & the Holy Grail" Were Marketed Like "Game of Thrones"

Friday, September 13, 2013

Isabella reporting,

Today's video clip has been whipping around the internet all week, but it's just too amusing not to share here as well - and besides, Loretta and I are die-hard Monty Python fans. This fake trailer gives the classic 1975 movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail the big-budget-Hollywood treatment reserved for an Epic Historical Blockbuster: all the swirling smoke, slow-motion tortured faces, sudden violence, and huge slashing swords. Yet every bit of it comes from the supremely silly Holy Grail. Hats (or helmets) off to St├ęphane Bouley for this great way to begin the weekend!

AWESOME! Now I have to watch it all over again, introduce it to my teenagers.

Brilliant! It just goes to show you how the right editing and a good soundtrack can do.

Panther City Yank (and everyone else) -- Loretta and I ARE on Facebook, but individually, not as the TNHG. Please stop by and give us a "like." :)

Just produced a burlesque version of Zoot and the knights from Quest for the Holy Grail.

I (and the audience) loved it!

We must have seen this movie 6 times. The kids loved it too.
Thank you for revisiting such a great time in the history of comedy.
