Gone Fishin'

Thursday, August 23, 2018
Susan & Loretta report:

We were doing a lot of typing in June ... and July ... and August. But summer’s ending, and it’s time for a break. We’ll be back the second week in September.

Meanwhile, we hope you enjoy these last lazy, hazy, days of summer. For those of you who, like us, have sweltered in ghastly heat and humidity and drowning in local imitations of monsoon season, we wish a change in the weather for something much more agreeable.

See you in September!

Gone Typin'

Tuesday, June 26, 2018
It's summertime, the time of year when we usually pack up the blog for vacation and go fishin'.

But this year, we're spending these beautiful June days at our keyboards, typin', not fishin'. While our working conditions aren't nearly as grim as this, we do have to concentrate on our books for a bit instead of blogging.

Look for fresh posts after Independence Day!

Being Elsewhere

Monday, June 18, 2018
Loretta reports:

I have no report. With apologies, there will be no Nerdy History Girl blog post from me today, because it's too late at night to pretend to be intelligent about history. This is because I didn't come back soon enough from where I was away to. Instead I offer all the preceding prepositions in places some people will say are wrong.

And the pictures are from where I was late coming back from, on the Maine coast in paradise. So maybe you won't blame me for not hurrying back.

Gone Fishin'—Spring Break

Monday, March 26, 2018
Susan and Loretta report:

Spring is officially here, although it doesn't feel much like it in some parts of the U.S.—and, from what we've seen—elsewhere in the world.

But it's spring break time for the Two Nerdy History Girls. We're going to take the week off from blogging, and look determinedly for signs of spring, in between working on our books. And maybe goofing off a little.

See you next week!

Rowlandson, The Angling Party
Susan and Loretta report:

Yes, it seems like only yesterday we took a break, but now it's family time—at the beach, away from social media (well, mostly).

One of us will be back sooner than the other, but we'll both be back in a few weeks.

Meanwhile, we hope you, too, will make the most of these last weeks of summer (or winter, if you are in the other hemisphere).

See you in September!

Still Fishin'

Sunday, July 23, 2017
Our fishin' trip continues - but never fear, we'll be returning to blogging next week with a fresh batch of Breakfast Links, and new posts to follow.

In the meantime, we invite you to explore our individual blogs for much more about our books and the stories, history, and research behind them:

See you next week!

Gone Fishin'

Friday, July 14, 2017
It's the middle of July, and we feel a bit of fishin' is in order.

Loretta is continuing on her Grand Tour abroad, and Susan is heading off to the 18thc and Colonial Williamsburg. Seems like as good a time as any to take a short break from blogging and general social media-ing. Look for us to return later this month.

Enjoy your summer!

Gone Fishin'

Thursday, August 25, 2016
Isabella and Loretta reporting,

It's nearly the end of August, and once again time for us to take our annual break from blogging, tweeting, pinning, 'gramming, and FB-ing to spend time away from our computers with friends, families, and a few good books. We hope you'll find some enjoyable ways of your own to spend these last days of summer, too.

See you again in September!

Gone Fishin'

Friday, August 21, 2015

Isabella and Loretta reporting,

Yes, it's that time of the year again, when we're taking a little time away from blogging, tweeting, pinning, IG-ing, and FB-ing to recharge and relax, and blissfully concentrate on doing nothing. We hope you, too, will find pleasurable ways to enjoy these last weeks of summer.

As the old song says, we'll see you in September!
