Perfect timing for the Christmas holidays - our friends at Crow's Eye Productions have just released this splendid video in their "Getting Dressed" series. The maidservant's clothes are wonderfully presented, and the candle-lit atmosphere of a winter's night in Victorian England is gorgeous. Plus there's a guest appearance by a very special celebrity....
Many thanks to Pauline and Nick Loven for sharing these videos with us all this year!

Love this! I've shared it with a friend who is not a costumer, but is going to the SF Dickens Faire for her first time and wanted me to help her dress for it. I did and sent her this video too. Happy Holidays, Val
One of us -- Loretta Chase -- writes historical romance. One of us -- Susan Holloway Scott -- writes historical novels, and as Isabella Bradford, wrote historical romances, too.
There’s a big difference in how we use history. But we’re equally nuts about it. To us, the everyday details of life in the past are things to talk about, ponder, make fun of -- much in the way normal people talk about their favorite reality show.
We talk about who’s wearing what and who’s sleeping with whom. We try to sort out rumor or myth from fact. We thought there must be at least three other people out there who think history’s fascinating and fun, too. This blog is for them.

Fabulous! Loved it.
This is my favorite of these excellent Crow's Eye Productions yet. They are all informative, but this one made the servant's life come alive.
