Friday Video: Young Frankenstein

Lightning strike
Loretta reports:

Continuing in Halloween week mode, I offer a snippet from Mel Brooks’s Young Frankenstein, which will be 40 years old in December.  In that time, I have watched it only 60 or 70 times.

I’ll tell my favorite line if you’ll tell yours.

  2. We recently saw the musical on stage and I said all of the lines before the actors did. Also I am a devoted fan of Terry Pratchett. He uses a lot of igors and when I am reading the books I also pronounce them Igor.

    "He was my boyfriend"

  3. I can't pick just one! Possibly, "Wait! Where are you going? I was going to make espresso!" Also, "Put. Ze candle. BACK!" Or.. "Oh, do you like it? I'm not partial to desserts myself, but this is delicious." "Who are you talking to?" "You made a yummy sound." "No I didn't." "Then who did?" "MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!"
    SO MANY CHOICES.

  4. "Come back! I was going to make espresso!"
True story--at the time this came out, coffee shops didn't exist in every block, so it wasn't surprising that one of two little boys sitting in front of me asked the other what espresso was. His answer? "I dunno. I think it might be some kind of Italian casserole!"
