Lightning strike |
Continuing in Halloween week mode, I offer a snippet from Mel Brooks’s Young Frankenstein, which will be 40 years old in December. In that time, I have watched it only 60 or 70 times.
I’ll tell my favorite line if you’ll tell yours.

Destiny destiny, no escaping that's for me! There are so many great lines in that movie ;-).
ReplyDeleteWe recently saw the musical on stage and I said all of the lines before the actors did. Also I am a devoted fan of Terry Pratchett. He uses a lot of igors and when I am reading the books I also pronounce them Igor.
ReplyDelete"He was my boyfriend"
I can't pick just one! Possibly, "Wait! Where are you going? I was going to make espresso!" Also, "Put. Ze candle. BACK!" Or.. "Oh, do you like it? I'm not partial to desserts myself, but this is delicious." "Who are you talking to?" "You made a yummy sound." "No I didn't." "Then who did?" "MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!"
ReplyDeleteSO MANY CHOICES.
"Come back! I was going to make espresso!"
ReplyDeleteTrue story--at the time this came out, coffee shops didn't exist in every block, so it wasn't surprising that one of two little boys sitting in front of me asked the other what espresso was. His answer? "I dunno. I think it might be some kind of Italian casserole!"
Walk THIS way….
ReplyDelete"Frau Blucher" gets me everytime! (is it just for Halloween that the captcha numbers I had to type are 1313 today?)
ReplyDeleteHas to be the moment Madeline Khan sings "Ah, sweet mystery of life at last I've found thee!"
ReplyDeleteWho can pick just one?????
ReplyDelete"Werewolf!?"
ReplyDelete"There wolf."
"What?"
"There wolf. There castle."
"Do you want to roll in the hay? Roll and roll!"
ReplyDelete"You take the blonde, I'll take the one in the turban."
ReplyDeleteMarti, Terry Pratchett is my hero. But you mean Igorth, don't you? ;-)
ReplyDeleteLoretha, of courth you are rith.
ReplyDeleteAbbie somebody. Abbie Normal
ReplyDeleteEveryone said what I like but even so I must say, " Do you vant some Ovaltine ? " " No, Thank You"
ReplyDeleteThe whole movie is a favorite for me! I have a smile on my face the whole way through every time!
