Our New Look

Susan & Loretta report:

Have you noticed we've updated our masthead?

Nothing major, mind you, just a new picture with a summertime feel. We've been asked if it's an Impressionist painting; though the picture does have that feel, it's based instead upon another of our photographs from Colonial Williamsburg. Here's the original, two ladies exchanging a bit of fresh scandal on the grass before the Governor's Palace. Our hats (or bonnets?) off to our exceptional designer, Mollie Smith, for transforming the picture into such a charming image – and also for creating our delightfully elegant "home" here at the Two Nerdy History Girls. Thank you, Mollie!

  1. It's a lovely 'headmast', I love it. And the picture is so quaint and candid, I think it's a nice change.

=D best of luck with everything ladies!

  3. I wonder what they are talking about. Perhaps last night's ball at the Governor's Palace or the new gentleman in town. Who knows but imaging is loads of fun.

  4. Love the new masthead. As for what they're saying, I'm betting they're just happy it isn't hitting the 100 degree mark we've seen in the last couple of weeks. Talk about hotter than hades!! The green grass in the photo is somewhat in short supply I think across the region

  5. Nice work! Can't imagine that clothing being my summer wardrobe! We go around in less that they wore for underwear!

  6. What those two ladies on the grass are probably saying is: "Why is that nerdy-history-tourist getting so close to us with her camera? She's practically on top of us!"

Monica, the grass is green because I took that picture back in May. It was hot then, too, but it had also rained within memory.

Laurel, those 18th c. ladies would be horrified to see how little we wear on a sunny summer day! Either that or they'd pity us for our horrendous lack of style. *g*

  7. Very nice! I dare say they are having a bit of a gossip about the scandalous behaviour of someone!

  9. Oooh! Don't you just love redecorating? And its' perfect.

As to the clothing, if you'd posted this on Wednesday, I might have keeled over just from looking at the picture considering it was 97 with 80% humidity. But I do love the dresses nonetheless.
