The one I refer to in the post is a recent publication, a collection of materials from the 1820s. This may explain why you're not finding what you're looking for. Meanwhile, I'm still scratching my head about Amazon saying a book was too heavy to ship.?????LorettaChasehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03641586650738945106noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5022318990784415929.post-9292761309559473532011-09-13T23:28:44.552-04:002011-09-13T23:28:44.552-04:00I was doing some research on the curtsy, curtsey, ...I was doing some research on the curtsy, curtsey, courtesy and came upon this blog. I tried to buy this book from Amazon.com, but they told me it could not be sent to my address. There was something about it being too heavy. In any case, there is a seemingly complete volume at http://ia600306.us.archive.org/11/items/youngladysbookma00londiala/youngladysbookma00londiala.pdf.<br />I'm still looking for the section on "The Courtesy" that is referenced in the blog.MuffyChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10800940518870296742noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5022318990784415929.post-65991517282552951652010-07-17T09:23:57.789-04:002010-07-17T09:23:57.789-04:00I put this book on my wish list:)

( http://www.vandaprints.com/image.php?id=13603 ) I think it rather suits the descriptions of what length ladies have to go through.Katyanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5022318990784415929.post-34575734254513921802010-07-13T13:13:01.014-04:002010-07-13T13:13:01.014-04:00I can't say enough about this book. It does point out that commercial dyes are made with nitrate of silver "or lunar caustic" & one must be careful not to burn oneself. Elsewhere, the dangers are pointed out in more detail. But there are recipes for a lady's maid, "for staining the hair black...a Chestnut-color...Flaxen," etc.LorettaChasehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03641586650738945106noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5022318990784415929.post-74640844761109637932010-07-13T12:44:32.147-04:002010-07-13T12:44:32.147-04:00oh oh must have it.
