President Chester Arthur is buried there, and although his site could use some repair, the cemetery is a great place to spend an afternoon looking at the monuments/mausoleums/landscaping/etc. But I still wouldn't drink the water! greg6833noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5022318990784415929.post-40445586883838981712015-10-29T17:45:45.328-04:002015-10-29T17:45:45.328-04:00Another famous one is Laurel Hill Cemetery in Phil...Another famous one is Laurel Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia.<br />http://thelaurelhillcemetery.org/index.php?m=1&p=1&s=1Lab Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11527127633619894794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5022318990784415929.post-68622250344278493842015-10-28T12:19:16.128-04:002015-10-28T12:19:16.128-04:00Thank you for an interesting post, Loretta. As a matter of fact, I used a statue of a mourning lady which I had never seen anywhere else on the cover of my first mystery novel. I imagine that the statuary in cemeteries was also appreciated for its artistic qualities.Cathy Spencer, Authorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12950882935814941182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5022318990784415929.post-2206141484819108892015-10-28T11:00:57.311-04:002015-10-28T11:00:57.311-04:00Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge and Watertown i...Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge and Watertown is delightfully landscaped with ponds and hills and dells, and is one of the best spring birding spots anywhere. Also interesting monument architecture, and the graves of many eminent 19th c.
